Why we exist...
In 2012, when civil war broke out in Syria, many Kurdish people fled the country to take refuge in Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Among them were the Ismail family.
In 2018, Kader, Nesrin and their young family arrived in Creston, having been sponsored to Canada by the Creston Refugee Committee.
Meanwhile, Nesrin's mother, older sister, and brother, his wife and three boys are still in a UNHCR Refugee Camp in Iraq.
We are committed to sponsoring these family members to come to live in Creston.
